Before you start

Steps

  1. List only what the label says

    Write the name you use, the time, and how many times a day, copied from the label. Do not ask the chat what to take.

  2. Add a repeating reminder

    Create one calendar event per dose time and set it to repeat. The title is the name you use, not a new instruction. Create an event: https://support.google.com/calendar/answer/72143

  3. Count the refill in a sheet

    Columns: A name, B pills left, C doses per day. Put this formula in D2. It is pills left divided by doses per day, minus 5. That number is days until you should refill. Sheets help: https://support.google.com/docs/answer/6000292

  4. Turn that number into a date

    Ask the chat only to turn the day count into a calendar date. You already decided the dose.

    I will paste a medicine name and a number of days until a refill alert. Today's date is included. Return the calendar date that is that many days from today. Do not change the dose. Do not add a medicine. If the number is missing, say so.

  5. Share it if someone else should see a miss

    Share the calendar with one person who already helps with this, or leave it private. Calendar sharing is in the calendar help: https://support.google.com/calendar/answer/37111

  6. Review it once a month

    When a pack changes, update pills left and the dose from the new label. Leave the chat out of that decision.

Power move

Refill date is pills left divided by doses per day, then minus five days of buffer, calculated in the sheet. Share the calendar with one carer if you want a second person to see a missed dose. Nobody edits the dose except you, from the label.
